Big Talk Education workshops Thursday 23rd June
Big Talk Education will be coming into school next Thursday 23rd June to provide relationship education for our children.
There will be a parent information session on Thursday 23rd June at 9am when a facilitator from Big Talk Education will cover in greater detail what is included in the Growing Up Safe sessions and the vital role parents/carers can play in keeping their children safe.
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions as a small group or individually during the meeting. There was a reply slip with the Big Talk letter that came home yesterday. If you are able to attend the meeting could you please complete the reply slip and return it to your child's teacher at the beginning of next week.
If you are unable to make the meeting, the presentation will be available on the Big Talk website. We will send out a password next week to enable you to access this.
Further information is also available on www.bigtalkeducation.co.uk/parents
Sponsored walk Friday 24th June
We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to join us for our sponsored walk next Friday, 24th June. Sponsor forms were sent out last week and a letter with further details regarding the event has been sent home with your child this afternoon. Please arrive at school at 1.15pm ready for a 1.30pm start. Please enter the school grounds via the Station Road entrance and make your way round to the school office.
We would love our nursery children and their families to join us too if available.
Our PTA will be joining us at the event and will have drinks/ice creams etc for sale - please see their poster below for details.
Tempest photographers came into school this morning to take our class photos. Tempest will provide us with a link to each photo which we will then send to parents/carers of each class. The orders can be placed online by a specific deadline and any photos ordered by this deadline will be delivered to school for us to hand out to the children.
As soon as we receive the links for the photos we will send them to parents, along with details of the deadline for placing orders.
Please return Read Write Inc books and library books
If your child is in Year 2 or below and you have any Read Write Inc books or library books at home, could you please return these to your child's class teacher as soon as possible please.
Uniform orders for September
We are now accepting orders for uniform for September. If you would like to order any uniform ready for September, please log on to ParentPay to order your items before Friday 15th July 2022. The uniform will be available to collect on Monday 5th September 2022 or Tuesday 6th September 2022 as these are training days and school will be closed to pupils on these days.
We cannot guarantee that any orders received after Friday 15th July will be available for collection before the children start back in September, so it is really important that you order on time.
If you order any uniform and the item is for your child to have this term rather than for September, please email email@example.com to let us know.
Father's Day Shop
Thank you so much to our wonderful PTA volunteers, who made sure that the Father's Day shop was a huge success. The shop was stocked with lots of wonderful goodies and the children had a fantastic time visiting the shop and choosing something for their loved ones (and maybe one or two of them chose something for themselves too!!). We couldn't run these events without the volunteers and are extremely grateful to those who gave up their time yesterday for our children.
Recognition Board Success!
Congratulations to Thomas in Year 3 and Ida in Year 1 who both received their Recognition Board badges this week for getting their names on the board under all 3 categories (Work Hard, Be Respectful and Be Kind ). They were both just working really hard to get their names onto the Be Kind section of the board and were really really kind to other children recently to achieve this. Well done Thomas and Ida. What a fantastic achievement!
Key Stage 2 production
Due to unforeseen circumstances, it has been necessary for us to change the date of the dress rehearsal for the KS2 production. The dress rehearsal will now be held on Tuesday 5th July at 10am. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.
The evening performances will be held on Tuesday 5th July and Thursday 7th July. Further information will be sent out to you at the start of next week, including timings and how to request tickets for the performances.
The NSPCC's Big Breaktime
Thank you to everyone who donated to the NSPCC's Big Breaktime last Friday. We raised £164.46 which will go towards the vital work that the NSPCC carry out.
Ellis in Year 5 was awarded 'Student of the month' recently at his martial arts club. This shows the dedication and commitment that Ellis is putting in to his sport, which is amazing. Well done Ellis - what a fantastic acheivement! Keep up the hard work.
It wasn't that long ago that we shared with everyone that Harshana had taken part in her first swimming lesson. This week, Harshana brought us 4 - yes 4! - certificates that she has recently received for her swimming. These were for Levels 1 to 4. We can't believe that in such a short space of time, Harshana has progressed so quickly and we are all so proud of her. Well done Harshana - you are a superstar swimmer! Keep this up and we might see you in the Olympics in years to come!
Seth in Year 2 recently took part in a Football Festival with his Bawtry Juniors team. Seth loves his football and really enjoyed the tournament. He is super proud of his medal. Well done Seth!
