Timings for the start of the school day
We are beginning to see an increase in children arriving late to school each day. This is very disruptive, both for the children who are arriving late and also for the rest of their class as they have already started their learning.
We thought it would be useful to remind parents/carers of the timings for the start of the school day.
Nursery/Reception/Year 1/Year 2 - the doors open at 8.45am and close at 8.55am. This means that the register is taken at 8:55am promptly and lessons start. If your child arrives at school after 8.55am, they are late and they must be brought to the school office. A member of the office staff will take them through to their classroom.
Year 3/Year 4/Year5 /Year 6 - the doors open at 8.40am and close at 8.45am. This means that the register is taken at 8:45am promptly and lessons start. If your child arrives at school after 8.45am, they are late and they must be brought/come to the school office. A member of the office staff will then direct them to their class.
If your child is late and there is anything we can help with, please don't hesitate to contact us.
We have received the links for the class photos from Tempest photographers this afternoon. We will send these out at the beginning of next week via email through ParentPay. Any orders received by Tempest within 14 days of parents/carers receiving the link will be returned free of charge to school. Any orders received by Tempest after the 14 days have passed will be posted to your home address and there will be an additional charge for this.
No Year 2 tutoring Tuesday 5th July

The sponsored walk has now been rearranged for Monday 11th July at 9:15 am. A letter providing more information will be sent out to you shortly. We would love for parents/carers to join us for the walk.

News from Year 1/2
The children across Year 1/2 have been learning all about telling the time. From o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to, to looking at 5-minute intervals of time. We have been doing lots of practical learning and reasoning questions. It has been a little bit tricky, but we were determined, the work we have produced is brilliant!
The children also took part in the 'Live Water Safety Presentation' run by Yorkshire Water Education Team. The children were taught all things water safety and how to keep safe when near water. This included fun voting games and activities for the children to enjoy, but also spread very important awareness to the children. It was lots of fun.
The children in Year 1 were revisiting the punctuation question marks. The children were left a note by one of the cleaning staff from school that a rare sighting had been made on school grounds. The children went out and investigated the area, we found a dinosaur protecting an egg. We had so many fabulous questions to ask.
Jenson in Miss Cruickshanks' class won the maths superstar award in Wednesday's Maths lesson. His 4 operations work was fabulous and he completed all of the tasks including the hot challenge. We are so proud of you Jenson - well done on your super learning!
Oscar in Reception has been attending swimming lessons in Bawtry and has already reached his level 5. He gained both his level 4 and 5 certificates this week and wanted to share this as he is very proud of learning to swim. Well done Oscar - you are doing amazingly well!
