Let's see if you can do it again next week and let's see which other classes can match your achievement! As a reward, Mrs Perry's class will get to choose a little treat next week.

Children arriving late to school
Quite a few children have been arriving late to school recently. We thought it would be useful to remind parents/carers of the timings for the start of the school day.
Foundation/Year 1/2 - doors open at 8.45am and close at 8.55am ready for the register to be taken. Learning then starts as soon as the register has been taken.
Year 3 to Year 6 - doors open at 8.40am and close at 8.45am ready for the register to be taken. Learning then starts as soon as the register has been taken.
Late arrivals at school result in children missing the beginning of lessons and disturbing the rest of the class when they arrive. We would appreciate it if all children could arrive at school on time going forward please. If there is a particular issue that we need to be aware of which is resulting in your child arriving late, please speak to your child's class teacher or call into the school office so you can discuss this further with an appropriate member of staff.
Stars of the week
Each week in our Friday Celebration Assembly, we celebrate our stars of the week. Each class teacher chooses 2 children from their class each week who have really impressed them.
This week in one of our assemblies, the theme was how we can fill our own and everyone else's 'buckets' by carrying out small acts of kindness.
Here are this week's stars:
Foundation
Evie in Nursery for beautiful singing during listening time.
Gabriel in Reception for showing he is ready to learn and showing great listening skills
1/2A Mrs Davies
Belle for filling everyone's buckets with kindness by giving smiles, compliments and making gifts (including a wonderful York skyline sculpture).
Ida - this is Ida's last week at our school and we are going to miss her. She has been filling her friends buckets with lovely memories this week.
1/2B Miss Cruickshanks
Annie D for always filling Miss Cruickshanks and all of the children in her class' buckets every day. Annie is kind to the core.
Jacob B for working exceptionally hard in all areas of the curriculum and doing it with buckets full of enthusiasm.
1/2C Mrs Birkinshaw/Mrs Taylor
Leo for trying hard in all subjects, for always having a smile on his face and for working well with others.
Noah J for trying really hard - especially with his handwriting. For being a superstar in music and always joining in with the songs.
3/4A Mrs Wood
Darcy for being a good role model in class. Always trying her best. Filled Mrs Wood's bucket by writing her a poem.
Esme for helping other people with their learning without being asked.
3/4B Mrs Perry
Harshana for filling everyone's bucket. Holding doors open for everyone, supporting others with their learning, saying lovely things to both staff and children.
Sophie M for always being ready, offering to help tidy or hand out things and for her lovely smile.
5/6A Miss Dunn
Poppy for working hard this week to go out of her way to be kind and to 'fill the buckets' of others. She is such a positive, supportive partner and will do whatever she can to help other children. She has a patient, kind manner when working with others and is an excellent role model in our class.
Noah for being such a kind, considerate member of the class and for working really hard this week to 'fill the buckets' of others. He is a very good friend and always checks that his friends are okay and that they know what they need to do. Noah has a very nurturing side when working with others and this is lovely to see.
5/6B Mrs Pickersgill/Mrs Walker
Sasha for always trying her hardest in everything she does.
Lucy D for her amazing manners, for always being so helpful and ready to learn and for always trying her hardest every day.

To prepare for this, a letter will be coming out at the beginning of next week with a slip at the bottom for parents/carers to complete some details which will then be added to the ClassDojo system ready for when it goes live. Please make sure the slip is completed and returned to your child's class teacher by next Friday, 21st October at the latest.
Find our more about why we're excited to use ClassDojo and how it is safe and simple by clicking on the link below.
Individual and sibling photos Monday 31st October
Tempest photographers will be coming into school on Monday 31st October to take the individual and sibling photos. Please add this date to your calendar/diary; as it's the first day back after half term when they are visiting us, we won't be able to send a reminder beforehand.
The photographer will be available from 8am on Monday 31st October if any parents/carers would like to bring their children in to have a photo with a sibling who doesn't attend Bawtry Mayflower. Please come to the school office and we will direct you to the photographer.
Parents Evenings Wednesday 9th November
The parents evening for this term will take place on Wednesday 9th November. The appointments will be available to book on ParentMail (please remember that this is a totally separate system to ParentPay) from 8am next Wednesday 19th October. If you haven't already registered with ParentMail, please do so as soon as possible otherwise you won't be able to book an appointment to speak with your child's teacher.
The discussion between you and your child's teacher will take place in person in your child's classroom. Children are welcome to come along if parents wish them to.
If you have any problems booking an appointment, please contact the school office before the October half term holiday.
The booking system will close at 3pm on 8th November. Places do fill up really quickly, so to ensure you can book an appointment at a time most convenient to you please log on as soon as possible after the booking system opens.
News from Foundation
This week, the children in Reception have been busy exploring repeating patterns. They worked in small groups to create their own repeating patterns, using the 2d shapes. They all did a great job!
Congratulations!
We have some wonderful news to share with everyone. Mrs Parkes recently started her maternity leave and shared the news with us this week that baby Alfie arrived safely last weekend. The family are settling into their new routine really well and we can't wait until Mrs Parkes brings Alfie in so we can have a cuddle. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Parkes and welcome to the world and to our Mayflower family baby Alfie!
