The children are speeding along now with gathering all the letters from the word MAYFLOWER! As you are aware, each class with 100% attendance on a particular day will receive one letter from the word MAYFLOWER to put on their classroom door. Once a class has spelt out the word MAYFLOWER, a member of the class will bring all their letters down to the office to claim their prize from our box of Awesome Attendance Activities!

Stars of the week

Each week in our Friday Celebration Assembly, we celebrate our stars of the week. Each class teacher chooses 2 children from their class each week who have really impressed them. Please see below for who has been chosen this week, together with the reason for them being chosen.

Nursery & Reception

Archie in Nursery for having a really grown up attitude to his learning, he has listened well and been really enthusiastic about taking part in our Read, Write, Inc lessons, even at home! Archie tries his best and has made a great start in our phonics lessons.

Cole has shown a more mature attitude to his learning, particularly in phonics where he is listening well, trying hard and doing some great learning.

Year 1

Lais - Lais shows respect by being polite and well-mannered and always remembers to say 'Please' when she is asking for something.  She is a great role model to her peers, getting on with her work and making sure she does her best.  To do her best, she makes sure she asks for help if she is unsure about what to do.  She is kind to her peers.

Rares - Rares follows the school rules and is a wonderful role model.  He is quietly hard-working, always getting on with what he has been asked to do.  He shows respect by listening carefully to the adults so that he is able to do his best work at all times.  He has good manners, taking turns and being patient with others and always saying 'Please' and 'Thank you'.  He is a good and kind friend.

Year 2

Isaac S - for always trying his best in everything he does. He puts 100% effort into his learning. He is kind to EVERYONE, from other pupils to all the staff. He always shows respect to others by saying please and thank you, holding doors and helping to tidy up. He is a star!

Annie W -  for always trying her best with her work and having consistently high standards of presentation. She is a model pupil, always demonstrating high standards of behaviour. She is an amazing friend to others, helping them with their work, as well as when they are feeling sad. She is ALWAYS wonderful!

Year 3

Maddie D: Maddie has come back after Easter with a fantastic attitude to learning, she is engaging in class discussions, explaining her reasoning behind mathematical problems and has been a joy to have in class. Maddie has pushed herself out of her comfort zone repeatedly this week and I have seen a huge change in her confidence. Keep up the hard work Maddie.

Maddison: Maddison has had a brilliant attitude to learning this week, she has tried her best in all lessons, both her presentation of the work completed and the attitude towards the work has been brilliant. Maddison has gone above and beyond this week to help her peers and be a good friend to all. Well done Maddison.

Year 4

Savana - Savana has worked incredibly hard this week. She has shown a real determination to do her absolute best work and has also worked collaboratively with other children. Savana shares her ideas kindly with her partner and is very supportive of other children.

Mason - Mason has shown how hard working, kind and respectful he is throughout every lesson this week. He has supported other children with their work and put every effort into his own work. He is an excellent example of someone who follows all of our school rules!

Year 5

George - George is a kind and caring member of Year 5 who always helps others when they need it. He works well with lots of different partners in the class and shows good collaboration in lessons. George offers his ideas and advice and always ensures that he listens to, and values, the thoughts and ideas of others. Keep it up George!

Bella - Bella is a kind, thoughtful and considerate member of the class who is always offering to help others. She helps children with their work in lessons, ensuring that she supports others to be able to complete their own work. Bella always asks adults if they need anything doing and she will give up her own time to do whatever is asked of her, often putting the needs of others before her own. She is a pleasure to teach!

Year 6

The children in Year 6 have had a great start to the summer term; they have worked very hard this week and have shown determination and resilience in lessons across the curriculum.

Our focus in school this week has been on our school rules and values and we have been looking for those children across school who have embodied these. This week's Year 6 Stars of the Week have been chosen with this in mind.

Jayden - Jayden has returned to school this term with a fantastic attitude towards his learning; he has worked hard in  all lessons and shown great focus and attention to his learning. Jayden has been respectful and polite to the other children and adults and should be very proud of the fantastic start that he has had to this new school term.

Ella - Ella has returned to school this term with the same fantastic attitude towards her learning; she is working hard in every lesson and striving to do the very best that she is capable of, being accepting of feedback from adults and her peers and ensuring that she acts upon it to improve her work. Ella embodies our school rules at all times and has continued to do so this week.

Headteacher Award

Each week in our Celebration Assembly, Mrs Powell chooses someone who has really impressed her during the week and presents them with her Headteacher Award trophy. This week's superstar award goes to Gracie-Mae in Year 5. She always tries her very best and even when something is tough she will try to improve and make it better. Gracie-Mae is always willing to help others and spends her dinnertimes with our younger children. Gracie-Mae you superstar! You are such a great help to everyone especially your friends.

Lunch Menu for week commencing 22nd April 2024

Please see the menu below for next week. There may need to be last minute changes to the menus on occasion, to take into account availability of items or delivery issues.

As the new menus are now in place, Mrs Stanfield our school cook will monitor which meals the children enjoy and which aren't so popular. She will then make adjustments as necessary and the menus will be updated and shared on the blog.
