Christmas Service Monday 12th December
We will be going to St Nicholas' Church for our Christmas Service on the morning of Monday 12th December. The staff and children from Years 1 to 6 will be walking to the church, setting off from school that morning straight after the class registers have been taken.
If you would like to join us and walk to the church and back with the children, please let school know by next Friday, 2nd December at the latest.
If you bring your child to school, please let your child's class teacher know that you are available to join us. Otherwise, please ring the school office on 01302 710721 or email admin@bawtrymayflower.doncaster.sch.uk to let us know you are available.
If you are walking with us, please come to the school office once your child is in their class on Monday 12th December.
Wraparound childcare after Christmas
As you were aware, we were looking into alternative provision for our breakfast and after-school childcare options. I am pleased to inform you that beginning straight after Christmas, this wrap around care will now be run by Hoglets Day Care.
This will continue to be run in our school hall, and the times for drop off and collection will be the same as they have been previously. I am also pleased to inform you that the staff that have worked for Making Friends will transfer over too, meaning they will be a familiar face for the children attending.
After meeting with the owner, discussions around costings will mean more flexibility around later drops off and earlier collections where needed.
Booking packs and further information is available by emailing hogletsbawtry@hotmail.com
News from Year 1/2
In KS1 this week the children have been learning to tell the time, here are some pictures of one group of children who mastered o'clock and half past. We really enjoyed drawing the minutes and hour hands on our very own clocks
News from Year 3/4
Our Year 3/4 children went on their visit to Cresswell Crags today. They were incredibly well behaved and this was commented on by the Creswell Crags staff. The children learnt about what life would be like to live in cave. They also took part in some shelter building and attempted to make fire. They were geologists and learnt about the different types of rocks, grouped them according to their properties and identified which stones would have been used in the prehistoric times.
Mrs Wood is the supreme spear throwing champion as witnessed by 18 children and 2 staff. She even threw the spear further than the Creswell Crags staff!
Congratulations!
Mae in Year 2 would like to share some news with everyone. She got her tap exam results back last weekend and she was awarded the highest possible grade for her age group. What a fantastic achievement Mae - you should be so proud of yourself!
Is your child interested in joining Bawtry Juniors?
