Celebrating fantastic attendance!
This term, we want to continue to celebrate our children's fantastic attendance. Starting from this week, each class with 100% attendance on a particular day will receive one letter from the word MAYFLOWER to put on their classroom door. Once a class has spelt out the word MAYFLOWER, a member of the class will bring all their letters down to the office to claim their prize from our box of Awesome Attendance Activities!
This week, the classes have done amazingly well and lots of letters have been given out. Please see below where each class stands at the end of today:
Nursery - M A
Reception - M A Y F L
Year 1 - M A Y F L
Year 2 - M A Y F L
Year 3 - M A
Year 4 - M A Y
Year 5 - M A
Year 6 - M A Y F
The children are loving coming to the office to claim their letters and seeing the word MAYFLOWER building up on their classroom doors. We can't wait to see who will be the first to claim their prize - this could happen next week for some of the classes!!
Stars of the week
Each week in our Friday Celebration Assembly, we celebrate our stars of the week. Each class teacher chooses 2 children from their class each week who have really impressed them. Please see below for who has been chosen this week, together with the reason for them being chosen.

Year 6
Our theme across school this week has been focussed on one of our school rules: Be Respectful. We have been looking for those children across school who show respect in all they do - those children who are respectful towards their peers, to all adults in school and who show respect to our school resources and equipment. This week's Stars of the Week in Year 6 have been chosen with this in mind.
Carson - Carson is one of the most respectful children that I have had the pleasure of teaching. He always shows respect to all children and to all adults in school and his behaviour remains the same regardless of which adult is in the class. He shows integrity in all he does and is an excellent role model for children across school. Thank you for all you do Carson.
Scarlett - Scarlett is a polite and well-mannered member of the class who shows respect to everyone - all children and all adults across school. She acts as a positive role model in all lessons, regardless of which adult is in class and she models respect during break times and lunch times. Thank you Scarlett for your contribution to our class.
Headteacher Award
Each week in our Celebration Assembly, Mrs Powell chooses someone who has really impressed her during the week and presents them with her Headteacher Award trophy. This week’s superstar award goes to Jagoda in Year 2. Not only has she worked so hard this half term to improve her handwriting, she always shows kindness, respect and empathy to those who need it in her class and around school. She has a contagious, beaming smile and her bubbly personality lights up school every day. Well done Jagoda!

We will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 8th of March and we hope you’ll join us to celebrate. This year, we are inviting children to dress up for World Book Day. The book choice is key – even if it is just a prop or a clue, make sure your child is recommending something to read with their costume. We would love to include you in our celebrations by inviting you to come in to school for breakfast with a book on the morning of Friday 8th March – more details to follow.
On World Book Day, children will be given a £1 book token that they can use to buy a new book.
Getting a free £1 book for your child is easy – simply take your book token to your nearest bookseller and swap it for a World Book Day £1 book or use it to get £1 off any book or audiobook costing £2.99 or more. You can find your nearest bookseller by clicking the link below.
