Stars of the week
Each week in our Friday Celebration Assembly, we celebrate our stars of the week. Each class teacher chooses 2 children from their class each week who have really impressed them. Please see below for who has been chosen this week, together with the reason for them being chosen.
Nursery & Reception
Stars of the week this week go to:
Patrick in Nursery for showing improved listening, focus and involvement this week.
Oakley in Reception for working really hard at his RWI sounds and trying to write them using the correct formation.
Year 1
Our focus this week has been looking at how we are being considerate and I have picked two wonderful stars of the week for this.
Our first star of the week is Jacob, Jacob has made a big effort in making sure he has been following our school rules this week. He has been listening and answering questions during our carpet time and has been helping his friends at his table during work time by assisting them to collect resources and problem solve as a team. Well done Jacob, keep up the good work!
Our second star of the week is Evie, Evie has been mindful in remembering to work hard, be respectful and be kind and it has been great to see how Evie has been considerate, not only to people but towards our school property as well. Evie has made sure her provision areas have been put away nicely and other areas in the classroom have been left tidy before moving on to the next class.
Year 2
My Stars of the week are Tillie and Annie D.
Tillie and Annie are both amazing children to have in the classroom. They are always kind, polite and considerate to others. They show this by helping to keep the classroom tidy, helping other children with their learning, being great friends to people who need them, and always being ready to learn and showing exceptional learning behaviour. Well done girls - you are superstars!
Year 3
Kiera - Kiera has stood out this week even more than normal. Throughout this week Kiera has been considerate in everything she does, she has taken a lot of care with her work as well as being kind and considerate to those around her. Kiera is a good friend to her peers and always takes their feelings into consideration.
Thomas - Thomas is always considerate of his peers, he is kind and compassionate and goes out of his way to do so. He's a good friend to many and thinks about his peers thoughts and feelings in all situations.
Year 4
Jack P - Jack is incredibly helpful in class. He is responsible for taking the inhaler bag and register to lunch, break and assembly and he never forgets and does this willingly! Jack is very caring and considerate and is always willing to help other children in class. Keep this up, Jack!
Oliwia - Oliwia is an excellent partner to other children in class. She is always helpful and supportive. Oliwia will go out of her way to help other children. She spots when something needs doing and volunteers to do this. Oliwia is a very considerate member of the class. Well done, Oliwia!
Year 5
This week in school, we have been focussing on kindness and consideration. We have been looking for those children across school who always show consideration towards others, portraying this in their actions and words. This week's Stars of the Week in Year 5 have been chosen with this in mind.
Ava and Alicia - both girls show consideration to others at all times - whether this be their peers, other children through school or adults within our school community. They always treat others with respect and show a genuine interest in their thoughts, ideas and feelings, often asking how other people are and if they need any help. Ava and Alicia are supportive and helpful and make the Year 5 classroom a nicer place to be. Thank you girls for all you do.
Year 6
This week in school, we have been focussing on kindness and consideration. We have been looking for those children across school who always show consideration towards others, portraying this in their actions and words. This week's Stars of the Week in Year 6 have been chosen with this in mind.
Ella - Ella always shows consideration for others; she regularly asks how people are and takes a genuine interest in the thoughts and feelings of other children and adults. She shows compassion towards other people at all times and often goes out of her way to make sure that everyone is okay. Ella is such a supportive partner to other children and she goes above and beyond to help everyone. I appreciate the consideration that you show to me, to other adults in school and to all members of our school community Ella - thank you.
Caitlyn - Caitlyn always shows consideration to all children and adults across school. She shows awareness of the thoughts and feelings of others and respects all opinions - whether they are similar to hers or different. Caitlyn checks on people and asks how they are and she treats others the way that she would like to be treated. She works well with other children, sharing her own ideas and listening to and respecting the ideas of others. I appreciate your considerate and caring approach to all members of our class Caitlyn - thank you.
Headteacher Award
Each week in our Celebration Assembly, Mrs Powell chooses someone who has really impressed her during the week and presents them with her Headteacher Award trophy. This week, Ariana in Year 4 was presented with the award for undetermined consideration of everyone in school. Well done Ariana - you are amazing at showing others how to live out our school values and are a true role model for your peers.

The demonstration of their skills was absolutely amazing! The children loved it! We would like to thank Tom, the coach and his wonderful team of students for joining us today.
A huge 'well done' to Olivia in Year 3, who attends the Taekwondo club and took part in the demonstration this morning. You were fantastic Olivia - your skills are remarkable for someone so young!
